Our current project is a restoration and reuse of the old Bourne Grammar School.

Dating from the 17th Century, this building was in use until relatively recently and we plan to create a working Victorian classroom and museum displaying the history of the building.

It is intended that it will be used by schools as an educational experience on weekdays, this will also include other partners to provide additional centres for an educational experience.

At weekends it will be open to the public with Baldock’s Mill, and events for families will be held there.

Originally used as the town’s first school, in later years it had a variety of different uses, finally being used as the centre for local Guide and Brownie troops

The building requires considerable restoration, but when opened, will provide an exciting addition to the town’s amenities.

Currently owned by Bourne Educational Foundation, they are resolving certain necessary legal objectives before constructing the final agreement for both organisations.

We hope that this will be concluded soon in order that the project can progress quickly.
